What is a designated investment product?

Answer

A designated investment product is an investment product to be purchased automatically in the event that participants do not designate allocation ratios during the instruction period(*1) and extension period(*2) (about 4 months in total). In such cases, participants are deemed to have designated allocation ratios to purchase the designated investment product.
If no allocation ratios are designated before the extension period expires, assets will be invested in the designated investment product.
An investment product called a designated investment product varies depending on the plan.
For example, if a target-date balanced fund is presented, the investment product will be purchased based on the date of birth of participants.
