I got an error message saying that my login ID is invalid.

Answer

When the balance in your defined contribution pension account becomes 0 yen, your account will be closed and you will not be able to log in to the AnswerNet.
* The error code for "This ID is currently invalid" is "50331655".

The main cases in which the account balance becomes 0 yen are as follows
 
<Corporate-type DC account>
(1) After losing participant eligibility, assets have been transferred to the corporate-type DC(*1) of your new employer or an individual-type DC (iDeCo)(*1).
(2) After losing participant eligibility (due to retirement under age 60, etc.) , assets have been automatically transferred to the National Pension Fund Association as the rollover procedure deadline passed.
(3) Assets have been received as benefits.

<Individual-type DC (iDeCo) account>
(1) Assets have been transferred to a corporate-type DC(*1).
(2) Assets have been received as benefits.
(3) Account management fees continued to be paid from the asset balance with small assets and no new contributions.
 
(*1) Even if assets are transferred to a corporate-type DC or individual-type DC (iDeCo) offered by Sompo Japan DC Securities, a new login ID will be issued.
Please check your login ID on the "Notice of Login ID for Defined Contribution Pension Plan" OR "Notice of Opening an Account for the Defined Contribution Pension Plan" (both sent in a yellow envelope).
