What happens if I do not provide investment instructions for contributions?

Answer

<Corporate-type DC>
If investment instructions are not provided when contributions are made, contributions will be managed in cash as uninstructed individual assets. An investment product(s) can be purchased through switching instructions.

(1) In case that a "designated investment product" is stipulated in the plan document
If investment instructions are not provided during the instruction period and extension period, contributions will be invested in the designated investment product. In such cases, participants are deemed to have provided investment instructions to purchase the designated investment product. Participants can provide investment instructions and change investment products at any time even after their contributions are invested in the designated investment product.

(2) In case that a "designated investment product" is not stipulated in the plan document
Until investment instructions are provided, contributions are managed in cash and cannot be invested with no investment gains (no interest, etc.). Make sure to provide investment instructions.

<Individual-type DC (iDeCo)>
(1) For those who applied for an iDeCo account as an "investment instructor (making no contributions)", investment instructions have already been provided at the time of application.

(2) For those who apply for an iDeCo account as a "participant (making contributions)", please provide investment instructions on the AnswerNet.
