It refers to, among assets in a defined contribution pension account, the assets for which investment instructions are not provided.
If investment instructions are not provided when contributions are made, contributions will be managed in cash as “uninstructed individual assets.” You can start investing by providing investment instructions for contributions.
In order to invest uninstructed individual assets, please purchase an investment product(s) through switching instructions.
If a "designated investment product" is stipulated in the plan document, assets will be invested automatically in the designated investment product if no investment instructions are provided during a certain period of time (approximately 4 months).
Difference between “uninstructed individual assets” and "cash awaiting settlement" : “Cash awaiting settlement” refers to the funds temporarily managed in an account when purchasing of investment products or switching transactions are in process.
