iDeCo participation is allowed for category I insured persons of the National Pension who meet the following requirements.

 

・Self-employed persons who are Japanese residents aged 20 and over but less than 60 and their family members, freelancers, farmers, students, etc.

・Not insured by the Farmers’ Pension.

・Not exempt from paying national pension premiums entirely or partially, or not granted special payment system for students or payment suspension. (However, recipients of the disability basic pension and residents of facilities specified by an Ordinance of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare are eligible to join.)
